Point Grey Golf and Country Club – Driving Range Facility

Point Grey Golf and Country Club is one of the iconic landmarks in Vancouver which has hosted the Canadian Open and other PGA events throughout its history since the 1920’s.

In 2017 Tamlin Homes began the planning process with Point Grey for a new custom driving range and training facility.

Due to the complexities and scale of the project, Tamlin partnered with Carman Kwan (AIBC) of Architectural Collective Inc. of Vancouver to move the project from conceptual design through engineering and finally permit approval  in 2019.

The final architecture of this facility took many months of consultations and alterations to meet stringent city approvals and membership support.

However with construction well underway, the shape and form of this unique west coast structure is truly evident especially with the douglas fir heavy timber post and beam highlights, vaulted ceilings, and various sloping roof intersections.

The facility will feature 20 state- of- the- art practice bays , 2 high ceiling training rooms with automated door systems, and outdoor patio/covered lounge area.

Tamlin’s design-build approach was embraced from the beginning of the project, and it has taken a collaboration of effort amongst the ownership/member committee, architect and builder to achieve our success to date.

As the main contractor/builder, Tamlin is looking forward to completion of the project in the fall of 2020.
