Laneway Home – North Vancouver

Laneway homes are small secondary (stand-alone) homes on lot with an existing main house. Laneway homes can provide a nice rental unit to help with a mortgage or a great way for two generation living that is becoming more and more popular now a days with housing prices soaring. Usually placed at the back of the property with lane access these homes have to be well thought out and designed to maximize the usable square footage of the home. Tamlin helped this client build a beautiful functional laneway home that received compliments from the building inspectors and planning department of her city. At just 1000 square feet on two floors this home features vaulted ceilings with timber accents in the main living area, two bathrooms, a bedroom upstairs with an open loft area and a flex room on the main floor that could be turned into a second bedroom. An exterior storage/recycling area, large patio and covered timber front porch complete this home.
